  Abstract:
The Iranian Light Source Facility (ILSF) is a new 3 GeV synchrotron radiation laboratory in the Middle East. As the main radiation source, the ILSF storage ring is based on a five-Bend Achromat lattice providing an ultralow horizontal beam emittance of 0.48 nm rad. In order to produce very bright high energy radiation from the bending magnet, a super-bend electromagnet is designed to replace the central low field dipole of the bare lattice. In this paper, we present some design features of the ILSF storage ring bending magnet radiation source and discuss the detailed physical and mechanical design of the normal conducting super-bend electromagnet. The related beam dynamics issues have been investigated as well.
